Strikes, Strikes, Strikes!

Like many small businesses recently, we've been caught up in the increasing number of strikes happening and have been making some changes in the run up to Christmas to ensure deliveries are on time.

Who's striking?

Well, it seems like just about everyone! With inflation skyrocketing and costs going up for everyone, the cost of living crisis is triggering a cascade of strike action across the UK, with no signs that it'll ease up any time soon.

The biggest issues for us have been around postage and delivery. Royal Mail workers have been carrying out strikes for several weeks, and some of our deliveries have been badly affected.

Coupled with strikes on trains, rising fuel costs and a shortage of workers, there's been a knock-on effect for other delivery providers who find themselves under pressure to pick up backlogs in the postage system, without the capacity to scale quickly.

What are we doing?

We've been trying out a number of alternative delivery providers and have settled on Evri for all our parcel postage for the forseable future.

We're still in the process of integrating Evri into our systems, which will speed up turnaround times and reduce our admin, at least to the levels we had previously.

We still aim to process and dispatch orders within one working day, and we use 'next day delivery' - although there's still some delays in this for all services. You can certainly expect your order within 3-5 working days so please get in touch with us if you haven't received it by day 5.

We'll be announcing delivery dates for Christmas soon, so you can plan ahead and make sure you get your orders in good time.

Thank you to everyone for being so patient and polite! We greatly appreciate it.
