Reishi is a genus of fungi with the scientific name of Ganoderma, that grow on dead or dying wood. These 'white rot' fungi are incredibly important in the breakdown of wood and are some of nature’s best composters! Our Reishi is 'duanwood', which means 'original wood' as they are grown on wood logs just like the wild version.
