Rwanda’s rich volcanic soils, plentiful sunshine, and tropical rainfall provide exceptional conditions for the cultivation of arabica, and the Bourbon variety particularly excels in the high elevations of Rwanda’s mountains.
The Huye Mountain Coffee cooperative, started in 2012 by David Rubanzangabo, works with 500 smallholder farmers farming an area of 28 hectares. As always, we select coffee from co-ops that practice sustainable methods and pay a fair price to the producers.
